Yesterday, June 11, 2025, we celebrated another beautiful chapter of our love story, our anniversary! π₯°
But this wasn't just a dinner-and-flowers kind of celebration. Nope. It was a day packed with everything that makes our relationship uniquely us: purpose, laughter, spontaneity, heartfelt conversations, and yes, even fingerprint scanning and spa therapy.
From errands to elegance, this day was a full-on romantic rollercoaster. Hop in, because I’m taking you through a full recap of the best anniversary date we’ve ever had (so far).
✨ Step 1: Adulting with Love (a.k.a. Visa Processing)
Our day started not with chocolates or breakfast in bed (maybe next year π ), but with a mission: Visa requirements.
Armed with determination and a big dream ahead of us, Canada, we headed out early to process our NBI and Police Clearance. Not exactly the traditional anniversary vibe, but honestly? It felt right.
Because building a life together isn't just about special dates it's about taking every little step toward the future hand-in-hand.
We stood in line, cracked jokes to pass the time, helped each other double-check documents, and gave each other mini high-fives when each step was done. Teamwork? Flawless.
“True love is filling out forms together and still finding time to laugh in between.”
π» Step 2: The Sweetest Stop, Sunflowers in Bangkerohan
With our documents officially done (hallelujah!), we headed straight to Bangkerohan Market. The smell of fruits, the bustling energy, and the colors everywhere made the vibe electric.
But our eyes were set on one thing: a sunflower bouquet.
We found the perfect bunch big, bright, golden blooms that reminded me of everything Elaiza is: bold, beautiful, full of light. π» I handed them to her with a grin, and her face lit up like the whole market suddenly turned into a scene from a rom-com. My heart? Full.
“When you find someone who brightens your world like sunflowers chasing the sun keep them close, forever.”
ππΈ Step 3: Outfit Change and iCanStudio Shenanigans
Next up: outfit switch! After freshening up and dressing in simple but matching outfits (because yes, we're that couple), we went to one of our favorite places in the city: iCanStudio. This place is SO much fun! A self-photo studio where you get to be the model, the photographer, and the director all in one? Say less. π¬πΈ
We posed, danced, laughed, and tried all the angles we could think of. Some photos were Insta-worthy, and others were gloriously awkward but that’s the magic of it! We didn’t care about being perfect. We cared about capturing us goofy, candid, and in love.
“Don’t wait for someone else to capture your moments go out and create them yourself.”
π₯©π Step 4: Fine Dining at Made Simple
With all that posing, we had worked up quite the appetite. So off we went to Made Simple Restaurant, our second-ever fine dining date (the first was at The Fat Cow back in 2021, throwback!).
Made Simple gave us the classy yet comfy vibe we didn’t know we needed. We ordered:
Juicy, tender steak that we shared like kids splitting the last bite of cake π°
Creamy pasta that made us close our eyes with every forkful π
And two cool, zesty drinks: Rosemary n’ Lime and Kale n’ Lime because we like to keep it fancy and healthy π
It wasn’t just about the food it was about sitting across each other, remembering all the things we’ve been through, and smiling at the life we’re still creating together.
“Love is in the little things. The shared bites, the inside jokes, the soft glances across the table.”
π♀️π Step 5: Opal Massage & Spa Relaxation, Unlocked
Now, this part? This was pure bliss. Before heading to our final stop of the night, we treated ourselves to a relaxing session at Opal Massage & Spa. Honestly, it was the cherry on top of an already perfect day.
As we entered, we were greeted by calm music, soothing scents, and the promise of one glorious hour to unwind together. We both got full-body massages, and let me tell you it was heaven.
All the tension from walking around, lining up, and posing like models? Gone. Replaced with deep breaths, soft sighs, and that lovely half-sleep floatiness you only get after a really good massage. π
“Self-care is great but couple’s care? Even better.”
π Step 6: Friendship Reunion at Grand Menseng Hotel
After we were all relaxed and recharged, we headed to Grand Menseng Hotel, where Jasmine, Elaiza’s long-time friend, was working.
And wow what a heartwarming reunion.
The moment they saw each other, it was like time rewound itself. Hugs, high-pitched squeals, “Remember when?!” throwbacks, and that kind of pure laughter only best friends can bring. I just stood there smiling, happy to witness such a genuine connection.
“Good friends are like stars. You don’t always see them, but they’re always shining in your heart.”
π The Perfect Ending
As we walked home under the warm glow of city lights, sunflowers in hand and hearts full, we couldn’t stop smiling.
We had done everything in one day:
✔️ Progressed toward our dreams
✔️ Gifted flowers and created memories
✔️ Took aesthetic and awkward photos
✔️ Ate fancy food and sipped on greens
✔️ Relaxed like royalty
✔️ And reunited with a friend who’s basically family
This anniversary reminded me that love isn’t always candlelight and clichΓ©s. Sometimes it’s standing in line at 7 AM, giggling over a tripod misfire, splitting a juice, and ending the day with a good massage and even better company.
π‘ Takeaways from June 11, 2025:
π± Grow together, not just in love but in life. Whether it’s paperwork or pasta, do it as a team.
πΈ Make time to document your journey. Even if it’s silly. Especially when it’s silly.
π§ Care for your body and your bond. Self-care + couple care = thriving together.
π« Celebrate every chapter, not just the milestones.
π¬ Reconnect with people who matter. Their presence reminds us of who we were, and how far we’ve come.
“A beautiful relationship is a collection of ordinary moments made extraordinary by love.”
Here’s to more forms, more flowers, more fine dining, and many, many more adventures together. ✨
