If I could describe April 2025 in one word, it would be: transformative. This month was a journey. a soulful blend of grief and gratitude, new beginnings, and gentle reminders that life, while fleeting, is full of wonder when you choose to see it that way.
Let me tell you a story… my story.
🌷 Two Months with Purpose
April marked my second month working with Casey Lightbody, and what a gift that has been. Imagine waking up excited to work not just because of the tasks, but because the person you’re supporting sees your worth. That’s how it feels working with Casey. She's not just a client; she's a visionary who truly values heart-led leadership, and I feel so aligned with her mission of helping introverted women rise confidently in business.
I remember the times I questioned myself, wondering if I’d ever find clients who respected what I offer as a Virtual Assistant. But I never gave up. I kept believing. I kept learning. And now, I'm here, doing work that lights me up from the inside out.
Key Point: Never settle for less than you deserve. The right people will find you when you stay true to who you are.
🕊️ A Goodbye That Broke My Heart
In the midst of all the work wins, life gave me something unexpected and heavy. My grandma passed away.
We flew to Bohol. Me, my mom, dad, and uncle to be with family and say our goodbyes. That week was quiet. Emotional. Deep. I found myself remembering her laughter, her strength, the way she’d always ask if I had eaten, and her simple joys. Losing her reminded me how precious time is.
But even in grief, I chose to show up for my commitments. I brought my laptop and worked from cafés around Bohol, letting the peaceful corners of the island hold space for both my mourning and my productivity.
☕ Café Hopping & Quiet Healing
During our stay, I visited some beautiful spots to work and reflect:
-
Becca Café x Bistro – charming ambiance and soulful coffee
-
Cocoberry Café – sweet vibes and good energy
-
Seattle’s Best Café Bohol – familiar and cozy, like a warm hug
These places became more than just cafés they became safe spaces where I felt seen, even in silence. I’d sip my drink, breathe in the calm, and remind myself: I’m still here. I’m still moving forward.
Before flying back to Davao, I grabbed some pasalubong peanut kisses, calamay, and goodies that carried little pieces of Lola’s home with them.
🌟 Blessings in Every Direction
Despite the heartache, I looked around and realized how abundantly blessed I truly am.
💖 My health is thriving. I feel strong, energized, and ready to conquer bigger things.
💰 My finances are growing. I'm earning with purpose, saving with intention, and still enjoying life.
👨👩👧 My family is my anchor. Their love and support ground me, always.
💼 My work is fulfilling. Every project, every client, every success I’m deeply proud.
💕 My relationship with Elaiza Joy? Steady, supportive, and filled with gentle love. We’re building a life with intention, and that makes me excited for every tomorrow.
💡 Lessons I’m Carrying with Me
-
You can grieve and still move forward. Honor both.
-
The right people will always see your value. Don’t shrink for those who don’t.
-
Healing can happen in the quietest corners. Even in a café. Even during a deadline.
-
Don’t stop showing up. The universe rewards consistency and courage.
-
Take nothing for granted. Life is short. Say “I love you” more often.
📌 Advice to My Fellow Dreamers
If you’re on the path of building your life maybe as a VA, a student, a daughter, or a partner keep going. Even when it feels hard. Even when no one sees your late nights. Even when you’re grieving, healing, or figuring things out.
Don’t stop. Someone out there needs what you bring. And the life you dream of? It’s not just possible. It’s waiting for your “yes.”
“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness.”– Kurt Vonnegut
April, thank you. For the tears. For the grace. For the unexpected joys.
Here’s to becoming more of who I’m meant to be with faith, resilience, and a whole lot of heart. 💛
Until next time, keep blooming. 🌸
